I am often asked why I prefer the role of Art Director - as opposed to the much loftier position of Production Designer.... I am even more often asked just what exactly does an Art Director do?

what I love about the Art Direction is that the job makes use of my ability to creative problem solve while being an important and essential voice in the design and vision of the production.

...While also being the spider gear in bringing the visual and constructed elements together.

Having worked as a carpenter, scenic artist, prop master, greensman, electrician, set dresser, puppeteer, graphic artist, and in many other departments, I have an ability to understand and support every aspect of the Art Department....
